Kroger president to retire - Business First of Louisville:

Cincinnati-based Kroger (NYSE:KR) said Don president and chief operating plans to work with the compan until late in the year to help with theexecutivr transition. To replace McGeorge, the company’s board tappedr Vice Chairman Rodney McMullen, 48. McGeorge, 55, starteds out in 1977 as a store co-managefr in Louisville and went on tolead Kroger’s Michiga n and Columbus divisions. He’s served as presidenty since 2003. McMullen officially steps intothe president’s post Aug. 1. He joinefd Kroger in 1978 as a part-time clerk and has servef as corporate controller, chief financia l officer and executivevice president.
The company said McGeorgs will serve as a special advisert to CEO David Dillon and remain on the boards as he assists inthe Kroger, which has its Mid-Soutn Division headquarters in Louisville, operates more than 2,400 supermarkets and multi-departmeny stores in 31 states. It has abouf 40 stores in the Louisville area.
