County to release $1M for lenders to serve first-time homebuyers - Boston Business Journal:

Income-eligible residents of unincorporatedHillsborough County, Templre Terrace and Plant City can apply to receive deferreed payment loans for down payments and closing costas as well as for help with obtaining firsy mortgage financing through private lending institutions, a release said. Applicants may be eligibl e to receive up to saidJack Carlisle, interim programs manager for the Affordable Housing Department. The funding will come from the ’ s HOME Investment Partnerships Program, said Only lenders — and not residentss — can submit applications to reserve a portion of the therelease said.
Lenders who wish to applty must first obtain designation asa “certified lendetr partner” by attending a workshop on June 1 at 2 p.m. at the Hillsborouguh County Brandon Regional Service 311Pauls Drive, Brandon. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on June 3, lenderzs who complete the workshop can apply to reserve a portion of the funds for the residents at the Affordable Housin Department office at 1208 Tech Suite 300, in Each lender will be allowed up to three applicationsd per day, which will be accepted in the order in whicnh they are received until the money is said Carlisle.
