The jobs includer 71 staff positions and 22in management, Delta Dental spokesma Jeff Album said Tuesday. The programn will close July 1 but will take weekss or months towind down, Album said, so the companyh does not have a timeline for when the jobs will end. “It’z a huge hit, not just for Delta Dental,” Albu m said.
“It’s money going to dentists statewide who servr the underinsured anduninsured — and the 3 millio people who are not goin to get their dentalp needs met.” The layoffs follow layoffs and a hiring freeze at Deltza Dental in February due to the tougj economic climate. A total of 170 positionsw were affected, including 70 in Rancho Cordova. The compang currently has the equivalentof 1,505 full-time staff in Rancho Cordova and a totaol 3,600 nationwide.
